Keeping unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs in your home poses a risk to you, your family and your community. It is important to dispose of these drugs in a responsible manner in order to protect the environment and to keep them out of the wrong hands. In order to provide residents with an easy, secure and responsible way to get rid of these drugs, Mercy teamed up with the Rock County Health Department and the Janesville Police Department to put 24-hour, secure drop boxes at three locations in Janesville: The Janesville Police Department, 100 N Jackson St., Janesville; Mercy Clinic East, 3524 E Milwaukee St. Janesville; and the Mercy Health Mall plaza, 1010 N Washington St., Janesville.
What to do:
In order to use the drop box, follow these instructions:
1. Gather all unwanted medications (no sharps, syringes, needles, lancets or illegal narcotics are accepted).
2. Try to leave all medications in their original containers. Black out any personal information on the bottle.
3. Bring the medications to a secure drop box location listed above.
Questions can be directed to the Janesville Police Department at (608) 755-3100.

I went to Mercy Clinic East at 3524 Milwaukee St., and was informed that there was no Drop Box there. I used
the one at Mercy Health Mall Plaza.
Hi David. Thank you for leaving a comment. Due to the construction at Mercy Clinic East, the drug drop off box has not been installed. We’re glad you still proceeded to use our other location at the Mercy Health Mall. We will be deleting the East as a location until it is installed in Nov/Dec of this year.
Thanks again for your comment, Trish Skram
